BIBLE PROPHECY
March 9, 2018
Acts 5:12 The apostles were performing many miraculous signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers were meeting regularly at the Temple in the area known as Solomon’s Colonnade. 13 But no one else dared to join them, even though all the people had high regard for them. 14 Yet more and more people believed and were brought to the Lord—crowds of both men and women. 15 As a result of the apostles’ work, sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that Peter’s shadow might fall across some of them as he went by. 16 Crowds came from the villages around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those possessed by evil[a] spirits, and they were all healed.
Mark 9:14 When they returned to the other disciples, they saw a large crowd surrounding them, and some teachers of religious law were arguing with them. 15 When the crowd saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with awe, and they ran to greet him. 16 “What is all this arguing about?” Jesus asked. 17 One of the men in the crowd spoke up and said, “Teacher, I brought my son so you could heal him. He is possessed by an evil spirit that won’t let him talk. 18 And whenever this spirit seizes him, it throws him violently to the ground. Then he foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast out the evil spirit, but they couldn’t do it.”19 Jesus said to them, “You faithless people! How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.” 20 So they brought the boy. But when the evil spirit saw Jesus, it threw the child into a violent convulsion, and he fell to the ground, writhing and foaming at the mouth. 21 “How long has this been happening?” Jesus asked the boy’s father. He replied, “Since he was a little boy. 22 The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.”23 “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”24 The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”25 When Jesus saw that the crowd of onlookers was growing, he rebuked the evil[f] spirit. “Listen, you spirit that makes this boy unable to hear and speak,” he said. “I command you to come out of this child and never enter him again!”26 Then the spirit screamed and threw the boy into another violent convulsion and left him. The boy appeared to be dead. A murmur ran through the crowd as people said, “He’s dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and helped him to his feet, and he stood up.28 Afterward, when Jesus was alone in the house with his disciples, they asked him, “Why couldn’t we cast out that evil spirit?”29 Jesus replied, “This kind can be cast out only by prayer.”
#1. How can you tell if it’s a demon or not?
-Rely on your spirit man
– You should be able to tell the difference between your worst enemy and your best friend
-Which comes by the spiritual gift of discerning of spirits
-Acts 16: 16 One day as we were going down to the place of prayer, we met a slave girl who had a spirit that enabled her to tell the future. She earned a lot of money for her masters by telling fortunes. 17 She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, and they have come to tell you how to be saved.” 18 This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and said to the demon within her, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly it left her.
-Pay attention to what grieves your spirit
-Don’t be ignorant to behaviors that are contrary to the word of God. I.e. if someone starts slithering like a snake or acting like an animal.
#2. Know the difference between Oppression and possession.
-Oppression is from the outside
-Possession is from the inside
#3. Understand the Overarching Principle of Authority
-Joshua 1 Be Strong and Courageous!
-If you lack authority in your own home you wont be successful in having authority over demon spirits
-Matthew 8- Understanding Authority
-1 Timothy 3:5 For if a man cannot manage his own household, how can he take care of God’s church?
-Recognize that the times that people challenge your authority is a spiritual problem
#4. Understand the Revelations of 1 Samuel 5
-The power that was in the ark of the covenant now lives in you!
-If you prepare for a long battle, you’re making a mistake! Cast them out quickly.
-Your presence should drive out devils.
#5. Address the demon, don’t address God.
– “In the name of Jesus, come out!”
-Jesus never battled with a demon, they came out immediately.
-Luke 4:1 Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, 2 where he was tempted by the devil for forty days. Jesus ate nothing all that time and became very hungry.3 Then the devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become a loaf of bread.”4 But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone.’”5 Then the devil took him up and revealed to him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 “I will give you the glory of these kingdoms and authority over them,” the devil said, “because they are mine to give to anyone I please. 7 I will give it all to you if you will worship me.”8 Jesus replied, “The Scriptures say,‘You must worship the Lord your God
and serve only him.’”9 Then the devil took him to Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, “If you are the Son of God, jump off! 10 For the Scriptures say,‘He will order his angels to protect and guard you.11 And they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.’”12 Jesus responded, “The Scriptures also say, ‘You must not test the Lord your God.’” 13 When the devil had finished tempting Jesus, he left him until the next opportunity came.
-Jesus got rid of Satan himself in a handful of scriptures!
-Mark 5:1 So they arrived at the other side of the lake, in the region of the Gerasenes. 2 When Jesus climbed out of the boat, a man possessed by an evil spirit came out from the tombs to meet him. 3 This man lived in the burial caves and could no longer be restrained, even with a chain. 4 Whenever he was put into chains and shackles—as he often was—he snapped the chains from his wrists and smashed the shackles. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Day and night he wandered among the burial caves and in the hills, howling and cutting himself with sharp stones. 6 When Jesus was still some distance away, the man saw him, ran to meet him, and bowed low before him. 7 With a shriek, he screamed, “Why are you interfering with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In the name of God, I beg you, don’t torture me!” 8 For Jesus had already said to the spirit, “Come out of the man, you evil spirit.” 9 Then Jesus demanded, “What is your name?” And he replied, “My name is Legion, because there are many of us inside this man.” 10 Then the evil spirits begged him again and again not to send them to some distant place. 11 There happened to be a large herd of pigs feeding on the hillside nearby. 12 “Send us into those pigs,” the spirits begged. “Let us enter them.” 13 So Jesus gave them permission. The evil spirits came out of the man and entered the pigs, and the entire herd of about 2,000 pigs plunged down the steep hillside into the lake and drowned in the water.
-The man not only had 1 demon he had 2000 demons! It was dealt with immediately.
#6. Get on them
-You have to show your authority and power
-If there’s something you feel in your spirit… a necklace, or a charm. Make them do what the devil prohibits them from doing. If you see something that they have linked to the demonic realm, take it! Usurp authority over the devil.
#7. No interviews
-Don’t let the demon put on a show
-Don’t prepare a deliverance room in the back lining the floor with a tarp and providing buckets for vomit. Have nothing to do with that!
#8. Never let a demon control a service
-The focus should stay on the Word not a demon
-Sometime a demon will manifest during a service. The preaching of God’s word must take precedence over everything. You don’t ignore them, you deal with them head on.
-If a demon possessed man starts screaming in your service, command the spirit to “Shut up” in Jesus’ name.
-Finding and getting rid of the distraction is imperative because the demon wants to be a distraction to those who need saved!
#9. Understand the Power of The Name of Jesus
-Philippians 2
-The name of Jesus is power!
-Every spirit is subject to the name of Jesus
#10. The person you deliver: Get them saves, get them filled with the spirit, and get them smiling
-Mark 12:43 “When an evil[f] spirit leaves a person, it goes into the desert, seeking rest but finding none. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the person I came from.’ So it returns and finds its former home empty, swept, and in order. 45 Then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all enter the person and live there. And so that person is worse off than before. That will be the experience of this evil generation.”
-You need to fill the now clean spirit with the fruit of Joy and the Holy spirit!
