BIBLE PROPHECY
May 24, 2019
Tune into Revival Today’s live global broadcast with Ev. Kofi Acheampong and Magalis Griffiths as they teach “Why do bad things happen to good people?”
Job 1: 1-12 “There once was a man named Job who lived in the land of Uz. He was blameless—a man of complete integrity. He feared God and stayed away from evil. 2 He had seven sons and three daughters. 3 He owned 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 teams of oxen, and 500 female donkeys. He also had many servants. He was, in fact, the richest person in that entire area.
4 Job’s sons would take turns preparing feasts in their homes, and they would also invite their three sisters to celebrate with them. 5 When these celebrations ended—sometimes after several days—Job would purify his children. He would get up early in the morning and offer a burnt offering for each of them. For Job said to himself, “Perhaps my children have sinned and have cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular practice.
6 One day the members of the heavenly court came to present themselves before the Lord, and the Accuser, Satan,[b]came with them. 7 “Where have you come from?” the Lord asked Satan.
Satan answered the Lord, “I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.”
8 Then the Lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil.”
9 Satan replied to the Lord, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. 10 You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is! 11 But reach out and take away everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!”
12 “All right, you may test him,” the Lord said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the Lord’s presence.
God was bragging on Job. He was a righteous man- blameless and he did everything right. God was confident that Job didn’t love God because of what he had, but because he loved God for who He was.
Job is one of the most misunderstood books of the Bible.
In the presence of God, there was an accuser. That accuser still accuses today! Let’s look at the following scriptures to understand the authority that had been given to Satan. When you understand this, you will understand why it is never the intention of God to go through any pain or ever be sick. Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy- those things are never from God.
Isaiah 14:12-14 “How you are fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning! You have been thrown down to the earth, you who destroyed the nations of the world. 13 For you said to yourself, ‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north. 14 I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.’
The devil wanted to be like God. What Satan wanted to be, he couldn’t be. God made us like Himself and in His likeness.
So why does Satan hate us?
We remind him of what he wanted to be like! The devil hates mankind because we remind him of what he wants to be like. We remind him of what he can never have. Satan wants to destroy the image of God.
Satan can’t get to God. Satan can’t touch God. So what does he do? He goes after what God loves. That is why Satan tries to destroy your life. We are the apple of God’s eye, we are God’s anointed! We share in His divine nature.
It is not God who makes people go through pain or causes them to suffer. Any good father does not want to watch their children go through any pain or suffering. The devil wants to hurt God.
James 1:17 “Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.”
Everything God does is perfect and good, and he doesn’t change His mind. So if the Word of God says there was a hedge of protection around Job, it means just that. But understand that hedge of protection can be broken by unbelief. God cannot work with unbelief. A double-minded man cannot receive anything from God It was not God who broke the hedge of protection around Job’s life. This is why you cannot afford to live in any unbelief! Many people have used their mouth to undo what God has done for them!
Job said, “That which I greatly fear has come upon me” So you see, there was an entrance given to the devil. Job didn’t have the revelation of what God’s will was for him. God’s will and intent for mankind to be healed and to walk in dominion in this life have always been the same. We didn’t have the means to do it, that is why Jesus died on the cross for us.
If you are suffering from any affliction, understand it was not something that appeared in your life overnight! People suffer because there is an accuser. There is a devil who hates you and wants you to go through pain.
People will often suffer because they have used their mouth to undo the blessing and protection of God.
Diagnose your problem by knowing that the devil is always bad, and God is always good. It’s that simple!
Realize the root and the cause of all suffering and pain in your life is not God. A lot of people think that God has caused misfortune in their life- that God is teaching them a lesson or punishing them. But that is not what the Word of God teaches us! It is the devil who wants to destroy the image of God in you. Understanding this gives you the victory!
