I have yet to hear a good enough reason to exempt people from doing what God has called them to do. These are a few reasons you have to get over yourself and do what God has called you to do. 

1. “I’m shy”– Did you know being shy will hinder you from accomplishing greatness? The Word of God says in 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” Timidity defined is showing a lack of courage or confidence. Being shy isn’t something you want to be calling yourself as if it were a badge of honor. It’s something that goes directly against the Word of God. Joshua 1:9 says “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Read that again. And Again. Once more. That’s right, He’s commanded us to be STRONG and COURAGEOUS. 

2. “I’m not qualified!”– If anyone can say they’re not qualified to do something it’s ME. But I quit saying stupid stuff against the Bible because the Word of God is what defines me, not my education or upbringing. John 5:30 says “I can do nothing on my own. I judge as God tells me. Therefore, my judgment is just, because I carry out the will of the one who sent me, not my own will.” Simply do what God has called you to do. Forget your qualifications and obey his Word! Remember what 2 Corinthians 3:5 says “It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God.” GOD HAS QUALIFIED YOU! Dance about it.

3. “I’m too ugly.” – So you won’t obey what God has instructed you to do because you think you’re ugly. Do you think that will hold any weight when you stand before God in judgment of the works you’ve done here on earth? Do you think God will reply “You were ugly! I’m sorry I created that ugly face of yours. How did you accomplish anything with that hideous face? Please enter into eternity and stop at the plastic surgery kiosk to the left.” NO! Stop thinking crazy! The Bible says in Psalm 139:14,”I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Start to say what God says about you and quit repeating the negative crap you’ve been reciting for the last ten years!

When God gives us a dream, we have to trust Him to bring it to come to pass. Trusting in Him is something we must exercise daily while we pursue that dream. We can’t rely on what we know, we must only rely on God. Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Start making your plans accordingly and launch out in obedience to God’s Word in your life, in Jesus name! No more lame excuses!
