BIBLE PROPHECY
September 19, 2018
There’s a difference between being happy and having joy. Happiness is usually attributed to an experience, luck or fortune. Joy is something that comes from within. Webster’s dictionary defines joy as, “The passion or emotion excited by the acquisition or expectation of good.” Look at how they define happy; “Being in the enjoyment of agreeable sensations from the possession of good.” See the difference!?
Happiness occurs once you have the possession, joy is the action of expectation before the possession! The Bible says, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalm 16:11) In order for us to walk in the pleasures of life, we need to be full of joy! The only way we can be full of joy is by being in the presence of God!
Nehemiah 8:10 says, “for the joy of the Lord is your strength!” Your strength, your security, your faith, it all rests in this joy! Isaiah 12:2-3 also says, “Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. For the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and He also has become my salvation.” With joy you will draw water from the springs of salvation.” You need the joy of the Lord to receive anything from God!
It’s until we find our strength in God’s presence that we can receive anything from God! That’s why it’s IMPERATIVE to be in the presence of God. Too many people base their joy on an emotion or feeling and it’s the reason they continue to struggle. Once you understand that the joy lies on the inside of you, you can tap into it whenever you want!
Rejoice by faith! The Bible says in Phil. 4:4, “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.” Stay in joy! RE-JOY. When things look bleak, JOY AGAIN! When you don’t feel Him, RE-JOY! Keep joying!! (made up word) It’s a weapon given to us to attack the enemy! Lift up your hands and declare “I have the joy of the Lord! Thank you Jesus!” Remember, Jesus bore our sorrow and grief (Isa. 53:4), don’t give it one second of your time!
