1 Timothy 6:12 “Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.”

The Bible tells us to fight the good fight of faith. The only fight that is left for us to fight in this life is the fight of faith. The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God. We are saved not by works but by faith. You cannot do anything else to get faith except through the hearing of the Word of God.

You cannot pray for more faith, believe for more faith, or even confess for more faith- you can only get more faith by the hearing of the Word of God! Reading the Word of God and meditating on the Word of God is how you receive faith.

Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

That second “hearing” in the original language actually means “understanding”. So faith comes by hearing and understanding the Word of God!

There are 6 hindrances that block the faith of every believer.

ONE- Lack of understanding regarding the new birth.

2 Corinthians 5:17 “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”

The Bible says that all things have become new. You must understand your place and position as a child of God- you are a new creation. Satan needs your permission to devour you.

2 Peter 1:4 “And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.”

God has made us a partaker of His divine nature. We have been made co-heirs with Christ. You are an overcomer! We are seated with Christ in Heavenly Places. We are above every plan of the enemy. It doesn’t matter what you’re going through, you will overcome it!

Everything goes back to the Word- the more you know, the higher you go!

TWO- Lack of understanding of your place in Christ.

We are in a place of authority even over the angels! And if you are above the angels- how much more are you over demons? Hallelujah! Demons are nothing! Witches are nothing! Powers are nothing!

1 John 4:4 “But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.”

He who is in you, is greater than He who is in the world! Concern yourself with how much you are pursuing the understanding of the Word of God! It is your responsibility to know the Word. It is up to you to have the aptitude to possess what God has made available to you.

Colossians 1:9-14 “So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.”

You are no longer a subject or a slave to Satan. You need to come to the realization of where God has put you!

Three- Lack of understanding regarding righteousness.

God no longer sees you as a sinner. He sees you as He sees His Holy Son. The amplified translation of the Bible teaches us in James 5:16 that the fervent prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available, and is dynamic in its working. When you are righteous, your prayers are powerful and dynamic! Jesus has given you His own righteousness.

2 Corinthians 5:21 “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.”

Isaiah 43:25 ““I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again.”

1 John 1:9 “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”

Four: Lack of understanding regarding our right to use the name of Jesus Christ.

John 16:23-24 “At that time you won’t need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name. You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.”

Mark 16:15-18 “And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”

Five: Lack of understanding about acting on the word of God

You need to act the Word of God out!

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

Six: Lack of understanding about holding fast to your confession .

Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.”

Romans 10:10 “For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”

Mark 11:23 “I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.”

Mark 5:28-34 “Jesus went with him, and all the people followed, crowding around him. A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition. Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe? His disciples said to him, “Look at this crowd pressing around you. How can you ask, ‘Who touched me?’ But he kept on looking around to see who had done it. Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of him and told him what she had done. ³And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”
