BIBLE PROPHECY
July 24, 2019
Join Ev. Jonathan Shuttlesworth and Magalis Griffiths for this live teaching from the Revival Today Studio as he shares 7 Things the Bible says about you.
2 Corinthians 5:17 “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
1 Corinthians 1:30 “God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.”
The Bible says there’s a different life once you come to Jesus Christ and when you become redeemed. Many churches preach that the benefits of redemption happen after you die…
Once you get to heaven you will have peace.
or Once you get to heaven you will be healed.
But the Bible does not say redemption is in the future! The blessings of redemption are already yours if you are a Christian. Failure, defeat, and sin are not normal in the Christian life.
Romans 6:1-14 “Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? 2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? 3 Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? 4 For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.
5 Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. 6 We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. 7 For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. 8 And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. 9 We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. 10 When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. 11 So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.
12 Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. 13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.14 Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.”
7 THINGS THAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT YOU
If your confession is that you’re a sinner, you will remain a sinner. Understand and believe what the Bible says about you and confess it! The devil wants to trap you and tell you that you can’t stop sinning and that you’re not able to do what God has called you to do. But that’s NOT what the Bible says! You must see yourself and your identity from the Word of God and what He says about you.
1 John 3:7 “Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous.”
Romans 3:22 “We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.”
We died to sin and now have His righteousness. We share the same righteousness that He has. “I am righteous, I am not a sinner.” Don’t let people put you back in slavery when Christ has set you free.
2 Corinthians 10:5 “We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.”
The Bible does not teach you that your mind is your master, the Bible teaches you that your mind is your servant! You have the power to take authority over your mind and your thoughts.
Kenneth Hagin once said, “You can’t keep a bird from flying over your head, but you can keep it from building a nest in your hair.”
Philippians 2:5-11 “You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. 6 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. 7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave[c] and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, 8 he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.9 Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
1 Corinthians 2:16 “For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?”But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.”
Don’t let people talk about you after you’re saved, the same as before you were saved.
Philippians 4:13 “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
2 Peter 1:4 “And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.”
Notice three things in that verse:
– You can partake of God’s divine nature in this life.
– The way that you do it is by meditating and putting in your heart and the precious promises of God.
– You actually can live above the corruption that’s in the world by partaking of his divine nature and the promises of His word.
1 Peter 2:24 “He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right.
By his wounds you are healed.”
The Bible says that Jesus ALREADY provided our healing through redemption. As a partaker of his divine nature, you have divine health! “I am healed, I am not sick. I reject sickness because healing was purchased for me through redemption. I believe it in my heart and confess it with my mouth and my body aligns with the word of God.”
Acts 28 1:10 “Once we were safe on shore, we learned that we were on the island of Malta. 2 The people of the island were very kind to us. It was cold and rainy, so they built a fire on the shore to welcome us.
3 As Paul gathered an armful of sticks and was laying them on the fire, a poisonous snake, driven out by the heat, bit him on the hand. 4 The people of the island saw it hanging from his hand and said to each other, “A murderer, no doubt! Though he escaped the sea, justice will not permit him to live.” 5 But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed.6 The people waited for him to swell up or suddenly drop dead. But when they had waited a long time and saw that he wasn’t harmed, they changed their minds and decided he was a god.
7 Near the shore where we landed was an estate belonging to Publius, the chief official of the island. He welcomed us and treated us kindly for three days. 8 As it happened, Publius’s father was ill with fever and dysentery. Paul went in and prayed for him, and laying his hands on him, he healed him. 9 Then all the other sick people on the island came and were healed. 10 As a result we were showered with honors, and when the time came to sail, people supplied us with everything we would need for the trip.”
See yourself as a money magnet. “I attract supply, I don’t attract want.” That is a very subtle, but very important, adjustment in your thinking. You attract abundance and supply, not need!
Psalm 23:5 “You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.”
You attract overflow! Righteousness attracts wealth!
Philippians 4:10-11, 15-19 “How I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn’t have the chance to help me. 11 Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have….15 As you know, you Philippians were the only ones who gave me financial help when I first brought you the Good News and then traveled on from Macedonia. No other church did this. 16 Even when I was in Thessalonica you sent help more than once. 17 I don’t say this because I want a gift from you. Rather, I want you to receive a reward for your kindness. 18 At the moment I have all I need—and more! I am generously supplied with the gifts you sent me with Epaphroditus. They are a sweet-smelling sacrifice that is acceptable and pleasing to God. 19 And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”
Remember, you don’t have needs, you MEET needs. If you identify with needs, needs will never stop multiplying. You have Christ who meets all of your needs! Take the same amount of focus that you have on your “need” and instead focus on what the Bible says has already been supplied to you.
Romans 8:37 “No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” Challenges in life are normal, but defeat is unscriptural. You are MORE than a conqueror!
